The Problem With Plastic

If you think that the recycling number embossed on the bottom of your plastics is the solution to the plastic problem, think again.  Of the seven types of plastic that are stamped as "recyclable" only two are easily and efficiently recycled.  Plastics are labeled with numbers 1 through 7.

Number 1 is pretty easy to recycle: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE). It is often clear, relatively lightweight (or thinner) and is used in:

  • Mouthwash containers

  • Soda bottles

  • Salad dressing containers

  • Plastic food jars

  • Water bottles

Number 2, also easy to recycle, is High density polyethylene (HDPE), is used in heavier containers like:

  • Milk jugs

  • Snack food containers

  • Laundry detergent containers

  • Shampoo bottles

  • Detergent bottles

Numbers 3 though 7 are where we run into problems.  If you havve tried to take any of these to your local recycling center you may have wondered why they won't take them. These plastics are difficult to recycle.

Number 3 - Polyvinyl chloride (V or Vinyl PVC),used to make:

  • Shower curtains

  • Cooking oil bottles

  • Pipe and Pipe fittings

  • Medical tubing

Number 4 - Low density polyethylene (LDPE), often colored, is used to make:

  • Sandwich, storage and "zipper" bags

  • Grocery and vegetable/meat bags

  • Plastic wrapping paper

  • Squeezable ketchup and mustard bottles

Number 5 - Polypropylene (PP), also often colored, is used for:

  • Tubs of butter, cookie dough, whipped topping

  • Tupperware containers

  • Yogurt and gelatin containers

  • Pancake and chocolate syrup bottles

Number 6 - Polystyrene (PS), is used in:

  • "To - Go"  food containers

  • Egg cartons

  • Disposable cups, bowls and plates

  • Styrofoam containers

  • Packing peanuts

Number 7 - Which includes a miscellany of all other plastics, which include:

  • Fast food beverage containers

  • Baby bottles

  • Cell phones

  • CDs

  • Electronics casings

  • Sports water bottles

Did you know that:

  • It takes 24 million gallons of oil  tomake a billion plastic bottles

  • 38 million plastic bottles in America end up in the land fills from bottled water alone

  • Plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting

The plastic problem has no simple solution, but there are ways that the consumer can help.

  • Precycle:

This is the practice of considering your packaging before you buy. Make sure your plastic is number 1 or 2 before buying.  If it isn't, consider a different product choice.

  • Reuse & Repurpose:

If you must use plastic, find creative ways to reuse and repurpose it.  There is a wealth of information on this topic available on the Internet.

  • Always recycle.

- I proudly use the Avent bottles for my baby. If You're breastfeeding or using formula I highly recommend getting extra parts, especially the sealing discs if you have cats. I clean the parts to the Avent bottles but if they still smell like milk/formula my cats try to bite them.

Baby Essentials - A Guide For First Time Mums

Are you a first time expectant mum wandering around the shops wondering do I really need that, or what is all this used for? If you answer yes to this question then you may find the following article useful.

I can remember during my first pregnancy looking at items in the baby section wondering if all these bits and pieces were really necessary, and wondered what half of them were used for. I was often confused and would buy things ‘just in case’. After the birth of my daughter I soon found that some of these items I definitely didn’t need, and then there were others I just couldn’t live without. I have put together a list of items that I personally feel are baby essentials and try to give you some insight into what and why you may be in need of them.

Essentials for baby

Bunny rugs/ muslin wraps – These are used to wrap your baby in. Newborn babies usually like to be wrapped snugly as it gives them the secure feeling they had in the womb. The difference is that Bunny rugs are for cool weather and muslin wraps are for warm weather, so the time of year your baby is due will determine which you will require. Recommend 8-12 of which ever you require.

Baby towels - You can just use normal ones but baby towels are often smaller, lighter and softer. Recommend at least 3.

Cot sheets - Fitted are best to prevent loosening as baby will move around a lot as it gets older. Recommend 3 sets.

If you are using a cradle or bassinet to start with you will need special sheets to fit these. You can get away with just 2 sets as babies are only in them for a short time (6-10weeks) and if you run into trouble you can always use a bunny rug!

Mattress protectors – Recommend 2-3.

Baby blankets - I don't use any baby bedding (blankets, top sheet ect) in the cot. Initially I wrapped baby in their bunny rug/muslin wrap and once they got to big I used baby sleeping bags or sleepsuits. Babies tend to kick blankets off , I found myself worrying they would wiggle under the loosened blankets, at the same time I worried baby would be too cold. Once I discovered baby sleeping bag/suits I never looked back. These types of suits go over the top of their normal sleeping outfits and allow baby freedom to kick and move about. SIDS bedding guidelines state that sleeping bags/suits are a safe bedding alternative as long as individual bags/suits meet the following safety standards – neck and armholes should be fitted so that there is no chance of baby slipping inside the bag and it should not contain a hood. Baby sleeping conditions are not something to be taken lightly. I highly recommend that prior to making any decision in relation to how you will sleep your baby that you visit safe sleeping at the sids and kids website. This way you can make an informed decision on what will best suit your individual situation.

Baby nail clippers/scissors - Baby nails grow really quick and are sharp, often causing them to scratch themselves.

Baby cotton buds – Used for cleaning outer ear, nose and belly buttons!! Look for the ones that are specially designed to prevent you from accidentally going in too far.

Baby moisturiser - Babies often get a bit scaly in their first few weeks while their skin is adjusting to the outside world.

Nappy bag – A good quality nappy bag will have separate compartments to put your different bits and pieces in such as bottles, wipes, clothes ect.Look for one with a change mat attached as you will find this useful.

A gentle baby soap - I recommend Johnson's milk bath you just squirt it in the water, no need to juggle baby and soap.

Baby wipes - excellent for cleaning face, hands and bottoms, I'd be lost with out them. I recommend Huggies, you can get a refillable travel pack for the nappy bag and a clip top container for home. You can get cheaper brands but they are often thinner and harder to dispense.

Nappy rash cream - I use one called Sudocrem. I found it very effective and although it is a little more expensive then some of the others creams you will see, you tend to use less.

Bibs – Bibs aren’t really necessary unless you are bottle feeding, or until baby starts on solids. Look for bibs that either slip straight over baby’s head or have velcro fasteners. I found soft plastic back bibs protected clothing better. Try to avoid bibs that require you to tie them, these can be difficult to manage when you have one hand holding the baby. Once baby is older using full plastic bibs while they are eating can save you a lot of washing.

Cloth nappies - whether or not your are going to use disposable nappies you will still need some cloth nappies, they come in handy for cleaning up and protecting yourself from baby vomit and placing under baby when you have nappy leaks! 12 should suffice if you are going to use disposables. Of course if you are not using disposables you are going to need a lot more, approximately 24-36 in total. Please note that I didn't use cloth nappies, I used disposables so if you intend on using cloth nappies then their maybe some extra things you need in relation to them - snappies or pins, nappy liners and possibly plastic pants or fluffies.

Nappy bucket – If you are using cloth nappies you will probably need 2, one for the nappies, another for clothes/bibs ect. For those that are using disposables one will suffice (or some sort of bucket) for soaking clothes ect. For soaking the clothes you will need something like napisan. Lux flakes are also good for general washing of baby clothes as initially their skin can be sensitive.

The following items you may not want straight away but are something to think about:

A thermometer - If you think baby might be a bit ‘off colour’ it can help put your mind at rest. I eventually bought a tympanic one as I grew tired of trying to keep baby still while the thermometer was under their arm. The advantage of a tympanic thermometer is you use their ear and it only takes a couple of seconds to register, the problem is they are expensive.

Bottles – It does pay to have one or two bottles even if you plan to breastfeed, just in case you need to be away from baby for some reason or you just need a break. You will also need a couple of newborn teats, a bottle brush and some sterilising equipment. Microwave sterilisers are very effective and are not expensive. If for some reason you are unable to breastfeed or you plan to wean baby in the first year you will need more bottles, approximately 8.

Breast pump – This will totally depend on your situation. If you are going back to work early but want to continue to breast feed an electric pump would be of benefit. You can hire these from some hospitals and pharmacies if your budget is tight. If you only want to express milk for the rare occasion then a hand pump will be sufficient.

I hope that this article has enlightened you on what products you may require for the upcoming birth of your child. If you feel that there are any items that are definite essentials that are missing from this list feel free to contact me through our website and I will add them.

Please note that I have mentioned brand names throughout the article but I am in no way affiliated with these companies, nor are they products that I sell on my site, I genuinely found them to be worth the money you pay for them.

Includes reusable ice pack. Available in black or navy easy-care nylons with adjustable shoulder strap. 7" x 12" x 4"

Best Customer Review

- I got this cooler so that I could pack 4 nighttime bottles for my twins. It claims it can hold 6 bottles, and while that is possible there is NO room in the main compartment for any ice packs when doing that. The makers of this cooler expect you to ONLY put ice packs in the top zipper compartment. However, that won't keep the bottles cool enough in my opinion. So since we only ever pack 4 bottles we stick an ice pack on the bottom of the main compartment and stand an ice block upright in the middle (with 2 bottles on each side). This works perfectly to keep all 4 bottles cold throughout the night.

We have used 4 oz Dr. Browns standard bottles and 9 oz Playtex Ventaire bottles and they fit fine. However, 8 oz Dr. Browns bottles may be a little too tall.

How Breastfeeding Benefits Mothers

With numerous guidelines being written on the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, more and more mothers are becoming aware of how beneficial it is to nurse their babies. However, it seems that the benefits of breastfeeding to a mother isn't as well publicised, for many mothers still view breastfeeding as a sacrificial practice almost akin to martyrdom.

Far from it, mothers stand to gain just as much from breastfeeding their babies. Breastfeeding is beneficial to mothers as it reduces their risk factors for developing certain medical conditions and diseases later in life. It is beneficial for helping mothers regain their pre-pregnant figure more quickly - something that is bound to attract the attention of many post-partum mothers. Breastfeeding also has psychological and financial benefits.

Here are the 17 benefits that breastfeeding offers to nursing mothers:

  1. The baby's suckling action triggers the release of the hormone oxytocin which produces the letdown reflex (a process whereby the breast releases its stored milk to the baby). Oxytocin also causes contraction of the uterus which is important during postpartum healing as it reduces the risk of bleeding and promotes the return of the uterus to its original shape and size.
  2. Breastfeeding delays the return of menstruation. Mothers who formula feed their babies usually observe a return of their periods within 6-8 weeks postpartum. A breastfeeding mother can expect to delay the return of her period for months up to a year and beyond. This helps a mother maintain her stores of iron and helps to reduce her risk of developing iron deficient anaemia.
  3. Breastfeeding reduces a mother's fertility by preventing ovulation. This can help delay further pregnancies and allow her body to recover before being taxed again with another pregnancy. It is important to note, however, that the period of reduced fertility depends on the mother, her baby and their nursing patterns.
  4. There is evidence that breastfeeding may provide a mother protection against breast, uterine and ovarian cancers.
  5. A common misconception is that breastfeeding increases a mother's risk of osteoporosis, however, studies have found the converse to be true. While a mother's stores of calcium are reduced during breastfeeding, it was found that bone density return to normal levels and even increased after weaning, thus providing extra protection against osteoporosis.
  6. Breastfeeding has been shown to reduce a mother's risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.
  7. Some studies also show that breastfeeding helps to reduce a mother's risk of developing heart disease, heart attacks and stroke.
  8. Breastfeeding also reduces the risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
  9. Breastfeeding releases the prolactin - a hormone responsible for milk production. Prolactin also has a calming and sedating effect on a nursing mother. This relaxes the mother, helps her get back to sleep quickly after a night-time feed and may be helpful in combating the baby blues and potential postnatal depression. Studies show that mothers who breastfeed are less likely to suffer from postpartum anxiety and depression.
  10. It has been shown that breastfeeding strengthens the bond between a mother and her baby. This can help first time mothers adapt to the role of motherhood more easily. Studies have also shown that mothers with a history of abandonment are less likely to leave their babies if they breastfeed them.
  11. Breastfed babies are less likely to fall ill which offers mothers greater peace of mind. Something must be said about the benefit of not having to deal with the added stress of living with a child with recurrent illness.
  12. Breastfeeding can consume an extra 200-500 calories a day (the equivalent of swimming 30 laps or riding a bicycle up a hill for an hour). This helps a mother return to her pre-pregnant weight more quickly and easily.
  13. During pregnancy, fat is stored around the waist and hip areas to protect the baby and womb. This fat is utilised in the production of breast milk after birth, which helps a mother return to her pre-pregnant size more quickly than a mother who formula feeds her baby.
  14. It has been estimated that breastfeeding can save parents an average of US$400-800 a year since there is no need to purchase expensive infant formulas.
  15. Breastfeeding directly also means there is no need for baby bottles, sterilizers and other fancy equipment required with bottle feeding.
  16. Breastfeeding is a lot more convenient, especially for night feeds as Mum does not have to get up to prepare formula.
  17. A nursing mother can also rest while she is nursing the baby (utilising the lying down position). She doesn't have to stay awake to hold the bottle which allows her to get more rest.

The benefits of breastfeeding for mothers are many and should not be overlooked. They are also equally valid factors that mothers should take into consideration when deciding whether or not to breastfeed their babies. Even if some mothers might not want to breastfeed their babies for the benefits that it offers to the baby, I'm sure knowing a little more about "what's in it for me" might change their perspectives.

Do you want to learn how to make a diaper cake? If you are looking for the step-by-step instructions on how to make a beautiful baby shower cake of your own, this is the right article for you. As long as you follow through these simple steps, you will be able to come up with an amazing baby shower gift...

1. Get all the ingredients you need before you start. All the materials that you are going to need to make a diaper cake are like ribbons, teddy bear, baby lotion, baby toys, rubber band, baby bottle, stuff animals, socks, and of course, baby diapers.

2. Next, you will have to decide on the theme of the diaper cake that you are going to make. For example, if you are giving to a baby boy, you can make a theme of soccer, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, which are boy-specific. You can do other theme for baby girl as well.

3. To make a diaper cake, you will need to use at least 10 diapers as the upper tier. Open all the diapers and then roll them in a jellyroll method around a baby lotion. After that, use rubber band or double-sided tape to tight the diapers.

4. Use the remaining diapers to make the bottom tier of the cake. You will need more diapers here because the bottom tier will be bigger than the upper tier. Again, by using the same method, tie all the diapers together and use a rubber band to make them firm.

5. In this step, you will have to join the upper tier and the bottom tier together. Use double-sided tape for this.

6. Decorate your diaper cake. This is the most crucial part of all the process. Be creative and spend more time here. Your decoration will determine whether your diaper cake is beautiful. Bottle-Feeding Or Breastfeeding - A Choice of Health and Convenience

The real essence of being a mother is providing the best nurture and love so that your child will grow up healthy and a ready for adulthood and the future. Feeding your child is the most crucial task for the nursing mom because what you feed will develop and shape your infant from theinside out. Deciding on the method to feed your baby should be well-thought through. Consider the health benefits for your infant and the importance of how conenient it will be when trying to compare breastfeed or bottle feed methods. Professional health experts would advise you to breastfeed yet today's work trends and other unavoidable circumstances would tell you to bottle feed. If you are trying to decide on which method to select, you may want to try out breast feeding first. You can always switch to bottle feeding once you can never adapt to it. However, in the end it will be your baby's welfare and needs that you should consider before you decide.

Why breastfeed? The advantages of breastfeeding are significant and clear. Breastfeeding is one of the best moments in every mother-child relationship. It is a chance for the mother to intimately care for the child. The bodily contact between them manages transfer of love and warmth. With regard to the baby's health, there will no longer be a point to compare formula and breast milk because vivid setbacks for formula are dominant like indigestion and unstable mental development. Moreover, breastfeeding's reward to the mother and the child is invaluable especially in terms of physical, emotional and mental development. Breast sucking is essential in jaw development of the child as it is a harder task for the child to suck from the breast than from the bottle. This becomes a good exercise for the jaw and a good agent for good teeth alignment.

Now let's compare formula and breast milk and the benefits they provide for the mother. Working moms find formula very easy and efficient when they return to work. Their absence will be filled by the bottle. Yet the intimacy will be lost and the infant can suffer certain health problems which formula can bring. Breast feeding can be a weight loss control scheme where the fats gained during pregnancy can be dramatically used up in nursing. Furthermore, for those who want to adopt a family planning method yet cannot afford artificial birth control, breast feeding can be a reliable tool for birth spacing between kids. Frequent nursing prevents ovulation and further hinders possibility of the mother to get pregnant.

To breastfeed or bottle feed will not be a question if mothers suffer from certain illness which could be transferred to the child through breastfeeding. The more logical option for this situation is to bottle feed. Hence, the latter could also be opted for in cases when the infant has sucking difficulties. It is easier to suck milk from plastic nipples than from the breast.

Put your mind at rest since there is no need to have second thoughts about breastfeeding. To breastfeed or bottle feed highly depends on your situation and the specific choices that both the mother and infant are faced with. Good luck!

To find a more comprehensive discussion and to compare formula and breastmilk you can visit Aha! Baby to help you decide whether you should breastfeed or bottlefeed.

5 Practical Tips to Avoid Unsafe Chemicals in Cans and Plastic Bottles

There has been so much talk circulating about harmful chemicals found in plastic bottles and in cans. Scientists have not yet been able to establish the facts about this issue, but you can take some preventive measures to protect the health of your family. Here are some practical tips you can follow in order to avoid the risk of ingesting these harmful chemicals.

1. Choose brick cartons instead of cans.

Instead of buying canned soups and beverages, you can opt to get those that are packaged in brick cartons more popularly known as Tetra Pak. These are made of aluminum and polyethylene layers that do not leach into the liquid. These containers are also recyclable, which helps the reduction of waste.
2. Avoid canned fruits.

You can always go to the market and buy fresh fruits in season. This will reduce your intake of canned foods, which may contain the harmful chemical bisphenol-A or BPA. Save the use of canned fruits for those occasions when you really have to, such as during emergencies or when the fruit you need is not in season.
3. Examine your plastic bottles and containers.

Regularly check your plastic bottles and plastic containers for cracks. If you see some cracks, then it is time to discard them. You may also opt to use glass containers instead of plastic.
4. Use mild detergent for your plastic containers.

When washing your plastic bottles and plastic containers, use mild detergent and wash them by hand. Using strong detergents and washing the containers in the dishwasher may degrade the plastic and cause BPA to leach more.
5. Drink wine in moderation.

Studies have found that some wines have six times more BPA content than canned foods. This is because the vats used for storing them also contain the harmful chemical. Other wines probably do not contain BPA, but to be on the safe side, you can protect your health by drinking wine in moderation.

You can follow these tips for better health and for reduced risk of BPA exposure. When it comes to your family's health, it always helps to stay informed.

How to Make a Baby Scrapbook Album

First, you'll want to begin to purchasing an archival safe and acid-free album of your choice. Sizes can range anywhere from 6"x6" to 12"x12". If you want to make one as a gift, you might want to use a smaller size. You can include page protectors, but it's not a necessity. The album itself can be spiral bound or postbound. Spiral bound albums are nice, because the spirals can also be embellished giving it a special touch.

Decide on a theme. You can turn it into an ABC album, my first year, either whimsical, cartoonisch or elegant, whichever you prefer.

Next you'll want to choose your colors, blue/green/brown/yellow/orange for boys, ink/purple/yellow/orange/brown for girls and green/yellow/brown for unisex. If possible try to coordinate the colors in the photograph with your cardstock and coordinating patterned papers. Try to stick with double layouts as it is more pleasing to the eye to have coordinated layouts. I usually take the right side of a double spread for the photo(s) and the left side for journaling. You might want to stick with the same color schemes throughout, changing the style from double to double layout.

When embellishing, try to keep it simple. A simple bow, sticker, tag, buttons or flower with ribbon might do. If you're using a small album, then you have to make use of the space you have available, so it's best not to clutter the pages with embellishments. Different types of embellishments you can use are stickers, diecuts or cut-outs of baby carriages, baby bottles, safety pins, real saftey pins, bows, angel wings, baby buttons, letter beads, metal plaques with baby's hands and feet or various stamp images. Just go to your local scrapbooking store and you'll see what you might need.

For the journaling, you might want to use your printer and print on vellum. It gives the layout a very special and soft look. Adhere the vellum with brads, staples and ribbon, buttons, mini safety pins, eyelets, or with vellum adhesive. If you want a very personal touch, use your handwriting. I tend to mix the two. You can also use large tags for journaling

You'll also want to decorate the front cover. Sometimes you can find albums with windows on the cover, which is great for placing a beautiful photo of the baby. It's a good idea to take a piece of transparency to cover the photo for protection in case there isn't already one included. Cover the front partially or completely with patterned paper, use a wide piece of ribbon and tie around the front cover near the spine. If you have a spiral album, tie a few ribbons into the spirals. Embellish the frame and put on the baby's name and viola! Cover finished!

When making an album for someone else, you'll want to make a pre-made scrapbooking album without photos. Make sure that you include photo mats to adhere the pictures onto and make titles or journaling generic. i.e. "Sweet Little Angel" can be for both a girl and a boy.

Hopefully I have provided you with lots of good information to make a great baby scrapbooking album! Have fun!

Baby Colic - 10 Easy Tips To Help Your Baby Sleep All Night!

Is your baby's crying keeping both of you awake at night? Would you like to find out how you can soothe your colicky baby so both of you can get a goodnight's rest? If you want to take steps towards quieting and calming your baby, try this battle plan to soothe the symptoms:

1. Check to see if your baby is hungry

First of all you should check to see if your baby is hungry. To do this with young babies simply place you finger under their chin and if it tries to suck or move toward it then it means that your baby is hungry.

2. Walk with your baby

Walk with your baby or sit in a rocking chair. The continuous movement will soothe your baby. However, be sure to place your baby's head close to your chest so that it can hear your heartbeat.

3. Burping while feeding

Try burping your baby more frequently during feeding.

4. Know that a colic attack is coming and be prepared for it

When dealing with a colicky baby it is best to plan ahead. For example, if your baby usually has colic attacks in the afternoon/evening then you should do most of your household chores in the morning. Make sure that if your baby has been awake for most of the morning that he/she gets a nap in the afternoon and you take one with them. A nap can actually reduce the frequency of the colic attacks and how long they last.

5. Play music

Play music like classical or slow music as some babies respond better to sound and will find it soothing.

6. Stop the Crying as soon as possible

Using a pacifier may help stop your baby crying however, if this does not work a small bottle of sugar water helps calm and relax the baby.

Stopping your baby's crying spells as quickly and calmly as possible can significantly shorten the episodes of colic.

7. Massage

Place your baby across your lap while he/she lies on his/her belly and rub his/her back. This will help get rid of air in your baby's stomach and prevent gas.

8. Neck nestling - Dad's are fantastic at this!

This is when the baby snuggles his/her head into the space that is located between the jaw and chest of the parent. Your jawbone drapes gently over the baby's head and your voice box presses against its' head. Small babies hear not only with their ears but also the vibrations that go through their skull. If you sing something monotonous like a lullaby it will help your baby to drift off to sleep. This technique works best with dad's because they have a lower pitch and higher vibration from their voice.

9. A special favourite - especially good for dad's as well!

This is a good technique for dad's to do. What you have to do is drape your bare skinned but diapered baby over your bare chest. Make sure that your baby's ear is over your heartbeat. The rhythm of your heart combined with the rhythm of your chest moving as you are breathing and a bit of rhythmic patting on your baby's back will usually soothe both of you.

10. Use motion

Some babies prefer to be still when calmed down whereas, others like the use of motion to be soothed. Motion swings set at approximately 60 beats per minute is an excellent device to be used for those types of babies. The constant motion is great for relaxing the baby. However, you should bear in mind that for some babies this may not work as the swing only provides a back and forth motion.

A vibrating bouncer is another excellent tool to use to calm down your colicky baby. The vibration and rhythmic sound coming from this device will soothe your baby.

Caring for a colicky baby can be extremely stressful and frustrating at times but, remember it's not your fault. Also, bear in mind that you need to take care of yourself as well. You can't be very soothing to your baby if you are all tense and stressed. You need to try to relax and remember that your baby will outgrow this phase. In addition, keep in mind that if you need to take a break from your baby's crying then do so, there is nothing wrong with that. Family and relatives are often understanding and happy to take care of your baby when you need some time out for yourself, even if your baby is crying. If there is no one around it's ok to put your baby in the crib, let him/her cry and take a break before trying to make another attempt.

Do not fear or worry too much if your child has colic as your baby will outgrow it. However, do consult your doctor if your baby screams constantly or if your baby's colic attacks are accompanied with excessive vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. These symptoms may indicate a more serious problem.

Drop-Guard Silicone Sleeve with Evenflo Glass Bottle, Pink, 8 Ounce

Drop-Guard Silicone Sleeve with Evenflo Glass Bottle, Pink, 8 Ounce Drop-Guard Silicone Sleeve with Evenflo Glass Bottle, Pink, 8 Ounce

Best Customer Review

- I love glass bottles because I hate thinking of all the chemicals leeching into my baby's formula in the plastic bottles. Today it's BPA. Next year who knows what "benign" chemical will be shown to be dangerous. The drop guard is a great idea because the main disadvantage of using glass (breakage concerns) is somewhat mitigated. However, I find for one bottle to be a ridiculous price seeing as the underlying bottle is less than a dollar. I give four stars for the good idea and seemingly good quality, but I've got to deduct one for this ridiculous price. Unless the sleeve is made out of some precious metal it's too expensive. Fortunately (for the company) this is pretty innovative and so they are the only game in town.
